Hold My Paw
“Tsk, this is really troublesome… such a hassle.” Aatu said as he searched high and low on an alley in the back of the local animal shelter.
He didn’t like the fact that one of the dogs escaped because of a certain lazy volunteer’s mistake on forgetting to lock the cages, especially if it happened more than once already. “That good for nothing..! And they expect me to be patient with him since he’s new? Tsk! If this keeps up, he’s the one I’m going to lock in a cage not the dog” Aatu said, sounding frustrated. He was about to stop looking but he then heard a rustle.
Aatu turned and found himself looking at a dumpster. He then saw the garbage bag move, obviously making the rustling sound he just heard a minute ago. “What the… did the dog actually went inside there? But how?” he said as he approaches the dumpster.
He paused a few inches near the dumpster as he noticed hands materializing from the inside.
A skinny pale-skinned boy with different colored eyes and animal-like ears popped out of the dumpster, surprising Aatu. The boy looked at him with wide eyes blinked, then flashed a friendly smile. “Hi! I’m Faine! Would you like to join me collect such wonderful things I found in this large metal green container?” Faine said, ending with a soft giggle.
A boy who’s fond of animals meeting a boy who’s half an animal… what story will unfold for these two?
